National Theatre

Factory Settings fabricated the upstage room including the vaulted ceiling, raked floor and false perspective mouldings, for Alan Bennett's new play in the Olivier Theatre.

Although a smaller element of a much larger set, this room - the setting for the finale of the piece - was a technical challenge, due to the false perspective on the curved surfaces of the vaulted ceiling.

The solution was a collaboration between 3D CAD modelling, CNC cutting, and old fashion craftsmanship on the bench. Definitely a case of assembling the right team to achieve the right result.
